ST. LOUIS, Mo. - At a well-attended opening ceremony , Matt Felling, Complex general manager for Hilton Worldwide and Amos Harris, president of Spinnaker St. Louis and developer of the Mercantile Exchange district (MX)cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially opening the new 212-room Embassy Suites St. Louis - Downtown.

The all-suite hotel is located in the historic Laurel Building, part of the emerging MX entertainment district and adjacent to the America's Center Convention Center in Downtown St. Louis.

"In the tradition of Embassy Suites, our hotel will feature all two-room suites with either one King or two Queen sized beds. Due to the unique nature of the beautiful Laurel building, each suite features expansive ceilings of 10 feet or more and panoramic views of downtown St. Louis," Felling said. "This hotel is an exciting addition to the MX district and downtown as a whole.  Our proximity to America's Center, the Edward Jones Dome, Busch Stadium and the Arch, along with the touches that guests have come to expect in an Embassy Suites, will make this a very successful hotel."

The hotel plays a key role in the development of the emerging MX district, and adds nearly 100 jobs immediately, roughly half of the total jobs the MX will create over the coming year.
