Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced that all 750 properties across its All Suites brands will recycle discarded soap and amenity bottles and donate them to reduce hygiene-related illnesses for communities in need. Marking the first time in the industry this is required as a brand standard, it is a major expansion of what is already the industry’s largest soap recycling program that will now include 1,370 hotels participating across Hilton’s portfolio.

Embassy Suites Hotels today announced the opening of Embassy Suites Houston-Downtown—a property registered for LEED® certification for its sustainable design, construction and operation as recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council. It is the second hotel within the Embassy Suites brand to pursue LEED certification. Once approved by Green Building Council members, it will be the first LEED-certified hotel in downtown Houston. The property is the city’s first privately-developed, full-service hotel built from the ground up in Houston’s Central Business District in 28 years.
