TUCSON, Az. - Surgeons from Tucson Orthopaedic Institute challenged local chefs at the 2nd annual pumpkin carving contest and auction raising $3,582 for TMC for Children, Children's Miracle Network. This is the second year Embassy Suites Tucson - Paloma Village has hosted the fun Halloween-themed event for families.
The event was free to attend and guests enjoyed complimentary hors d'oeuvres and beverages while watching the surgeons and chefs carve away for a good cause. Guests were given voting tickets to choose the Most Creative, Scariest, Ugliest, Best Overall Chef and Best Overall Surgeon. The votes were tallied and the winners were:
- Most Creative - Cipriano Camacho, Embassy Suites Paloma Village
- Scariest - Kevin Handt & Ben Callender, BRIO Tuscan Grille
- Ugliest - Dr. Joel Goode
- Best Overall Chef - Jan Ospiowicz, Hilton El Conquistador Resort
- Best Overall Surgeon - Dr. Scott Slagis
